Young Hercules

Hercules was the son of Alcmene and Zeus, and he had incredible strength. Zeus' jealous wife Hera sent two snakes to kill Hercules when he was only a baby. Hercules however killed the snakes. Later as an adult Hercules helped the Thebans defeat the Minyans in battle. In gratitude the king let Hercules marry his daughter Megera and they had two children. Unfortunately Hera's wrath struck again, and she made Hercules go mad and kill his own children. For punishment the Oracle of Delphi told Hercules to complete twelve tasks within twelve years for the king Eurystheus.
